Combell in Claude: our open-source Combell MCP server 

Hosting with Combell? From now on you manage your domains, DNS, hosting, mailboxes and databases by simply asking Claude. We built an MCP server for the Combell API, and it is open-source. You say "point www.example.be to 203.0.113.10 and enable Let's Encrypt with an HTTPS redirect", and Claude carries it out in your own Combell account.

What is an MCP server?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol, an open standard that allows AI assistants to communicate securely with external systems. Our MCP server translates the questions you ask Claude into real Combell actions via the official API v2. Your data remains at Combell; the server merely provides the technical connection.

74 actions, from DNS to SSL

The server covers the full public Combell surface: domain names, DNS records, Linux and Windows hosting, PHP settings, cron jobs, SSH keys, mailboxes and mail zones, MySQL databases and SSL certificates. 74 tools in total, spread over twelve groups. Every tool declares whether it only reads, changes something or does something irreversible, so Claude asks for confirmation where it matters, for instance before registering a domain.

• "Which of my domains expire in the next 60 days, and is auto-renew on for each of them?"
• "Add a TXT record on example.be with our SPF policy."
• "Which PHP version does example.be run on? Switch it to the latest 8.x."
• "Create a mailbox jobs@example.be and forward everything to hr@example.be."
• "Add a cron job that runs /www/cron.php every 15 minutes."

Self-host or have it hosted

Are you technically inclined? Run the server yourself, for free, with your own API key from My Combell. The code is available on GitHub under the MIT license and on npm. You can start with a single command: npx combell-mcp-boostu. No OAuth, no token rotation: your API key is all it takes.

Don't feel like dealing with installation and key management? Then we host it for you. You paste your API key once in your dashboard, whitelist our IP address in My Combell and connect with one click in Claude. Your key is stored encrypted and you revoke access whenever you want.
